Volunteer With Us

The FCAI runs with the help of volunteers, so your help is greatly appreciated!


We are currently seeking gallery docents to host the gallery during open hours.

Gallery hours are currently 1-4pm Saturdays.


Docent Requirements:

  • No artistic background required, but we’ll train you on building procedures and gallery etiquette
  • Reliable, punctual, friendly
  • Business casual attire is encouraged. No logos, hats, winter boots or holes in clothing.


Docent benefits include:

  • Hang out in a cozy gallery with great artwork and calming music
  • Unlimited access to our high-speed wi-fi
  • Office space and desk to work
  • Access to our Volunteer Rewards Program
  • Volunteer hours towards high school or college credit



Volunteer Rewards Program

Volunteers accrue hours and can use their points during the calendar year. Points start over January 1st, 2020.

6 Volunteer Hours

  • Artist-designed tote bag
  • FCAI limited edition poster

9 Volunteer Hours

  • 2 film passes to an FCAI film night (date TBD)
  • Craft night with local artists (date TBD)
  • 10% off any purchase in the gallery

12 Volunteer Hours

  • Coffee with a Curator: This is an opportunity to join in on a small group discussion with one of FCAI’s curators to learn about the behind the scenes of an exhibition. Stay tuned for more details coming in the next couple of months. (date TBD)
  • Historical building tour: Guided tour of our home, the 103 year old Bessesen Building. Explore where world-famous opera singer Beatrice Bessesen lived, practiced and performed and learn the romantic story of the building’s origins.
